Nadine Jochims

CEO and certified educator, Master's Ed.

Hello, guten Tag, bonjour! My name is Nadine Jochims, I'm a certified teacher from Germany (Master's Ed.) living in Canada. For more than 18 years, I've been teaching English, French, and German, from Kindergarten to University Prep - in German, France, Uk, and Canada. Since 2020, I've been teaching mostly online. In German, I taught English, French, and German as a Second Language (DaZ, DaF) in the Secondary level (Abitur). Moving to Canada came with another big leap: The Kindergarten educator at our French-speaking school was on maternity leave, so I stepped in. What an amazing opportunity and experience! I then taught Grades 5 and 6 as a Homeroom Teacher in the same school. In France, I taught German at a High School level and helped students prepare for the Grandes Écoles. When I look back, I have taught students coming from over 40 different nations! But enough of me! You probably want to know what my teaching style is like and what to expect in my online lessons. In my classroom, you are the focus. I aim to create a friendly and supportive environment where you’ll feel comfortable to explore, practice, and improve your language skills. Through lessons that mimic real-life experiences - such as navigating French marketplaces or ordering in a German café - you’ll gain practical skills while enjoying the process. I incorporate interactive activities and challenges that keep the learning engaging and help you build new skills gradually and effectively. Real-time feedback is a core part of my teaching, allowing me to celebrate progress and address areas that need improvement. Mistakes are valued as part of the learning journey, they’re stepping stones to success. To help you remember vocabulary better, I use memory aids like mnemonics, word associations, and short stories, making it easier to retain and recall words. By the end of the course, my goal is for you to feel more confident, capable, and ready to use your new language skills in real-world contexts. Your progress is what drives each lesson. What are the goals you want to achieve in your language lessons? Cheers, Nadine
